Basic Rules
- Show the world how great we are! When flying on IVAO, VATSIM and other networks, follow the rules and set a good example for everyone else to learn.
- Help one another. This is a great hobby and the channel’s core is based as you know on helping everyone get more from simming. If someone isn’t sure or needs help, do your best to assist your fellow pilot.
- Operate each aircraft as per the operating limits and procedures for that aircraft.
- Ensure you set your Off Blocks time accurately and carefully – departing too early or with delay can incur significant costs to the airline.
- Follow the wider Newsky SOPs at all times, including operating all required lights on the aircraft at the correct times and flying to the correct QNH.
- Stable Approaches are important – if in doubt, go around or the airline could be penalised with a hefty fine.
- Do not double log flights on other virtual airlines at the same time you fly for Virtual Air Connect (this is to prevent breach of rules at other airlines).
- For flights on IVAO ensure to put IVAOVA/??? in your remarks.
- Your account is stored with Newsky we only use your first name on the roster page, if you want your first name removed from this website open a ticket on Discord, if you want your Newsky account closed contact Newsky.
Booking Flights
Ensure that when you book a flight, you fly it and are off blocks within an hour or two of booking. If you need to cancel a flight because you can no longer fly it, please cancel the booking!
“Career Mode” aka Scheduled Flights
The route network is expanding, as we reach more destinations in the UK and beyond. In career mode, you’ll need to consider flying aircraft that are available in each base. If one aircraft is flown away from the base, it will need to be flown back another time to enable the schedule from the base to continue. You’ll all be jointly responsible for helping ensure the fleet is moving in both directions, with the aim of maximising revenue in each sector.
Free Flight Mode
This is a little more relaxed. The Airline and Newsky SOPs still apply, but you are able to select any aircraft and fly any route globally. You will however need to make sure that there is demand, and that you aren’t flying empty sectors – as this will contribute to a loss and will impact the airlines revenue! See a stream coming soon?
